We cross state lines to gather with family, discover new destinations, and enjoy each other’s company. Across both states and into Washington, DC, our connections run deeper than the lines on a map.

Now, Arthur Wheeler Spirits Company celebrates that connection with an exceptionally rare bourbon finished in a wine barrel from Lost Mountain Vineyards in Delaplane, Virginia. The expression brings together two award-winning names from the region, each represented in some of the DMV’s finest restaurants and establishments.

Its story begins with four barrels—and an unexpected turn.

Originally envisioned as a four-barrel release, the collection became something far more limited when only one of the wine barrels proved able to hold the whiskey. What remained was a single barrel of bourbon with a character that cannot be recreated precisely.

Bottled at 114 proof, this expression offers remarkable smoothness alongside its strength. Inviting fruit aromas lead the nose, followed by a harmonious palate where the bourbon’s depth meets the wine barrel’s influence. Time in the barrel brings those elements together, creating a layered expression that honors both the spirit and the wine that came before it.

This is a single barrel by circumstance, shaped into something extraordinary through patience and care.
